Wait For Me Sister
Wait for me Sister
My steps are way to small
Wait for me Sister
I’m nowhere near that tall
Wait for me Sister
I’m gonna spill my cup
Wait for me Sister
And help me clean it up
Wait for me Sister
I want to go with you
Wait for me Sister
Now what are we gonna do?
Wait for me Sister
I’m scared of the dark
Wait for me Sister
Please take me to the park
Wait for me Sister
I cannot run that fast
Wait for me Sister
My love will always last
Wait for me Sister
Until I go to sleep
Wait for me Sister
I smile then I weep
Wait for me Sister
You taught me how to laugh
Wait for me Sister
Your halo and your staff
Wait for me Sister
You’ve gone into the light
Wait for me Sister
I’ll come to you by night

Love lasts forever

Journal 2015
Started the year off quietly and in contemplation. No ball drop..just my thoughts for the upcoming year of 2015.

Yeah it’s private..just ask me, I’ll send you the link (I’m not shy). ‘)
meditating
as well as reading (a given) are uppermost and a priority.
I want to interact more…so follow me and talk to me…I do so love a good conversation.

I love taking photos (videos) and am going to share and post them here and on my YouTube Channel. Anyone remember “A Year and a Day of What Am I Wearing Today (WAIWT)? A new and improved video blog “That’s What’s Up”.
Yoga
and targeted workouts are to be done daily. I will share my progress and progression. “)
I took a walk (as I do daily) around my new favorite lake (most times twice a day).
There are so many lakes in this city and I thoroughly enjoy them all.
At the very least all the ones I have explored so far. There is so much more to do here..I am gonna share a part of my world with you.
l will decide on the next story topic by February. The words come easily now. The fingers are in sync with the thoughts..oh the wrongs and rights I will write. I will preclude this also with a disclaimer, some material may be for mature viewers and readers. I am going to be a bit more explicit (who me?).
I must digress. The ending 2014 Holiday was subdued.
We lost
Satin to doggie heaven (virgin dog) and things have changed..
Yet and still, lots of LOVE and that is what matters the most.
Being
Over the Roses, orchids, plants, animals and man; I am ready to take dominion over the land. The sun, the moon and stars above will fill the ache and wonder of where is the love.
Treasure each moment as if it was precious for it was created only for you. You were CREATED in LOVE to be LOVED.
Here right now, here in this moment of discovery. I give you the secret the power of the word, the power of thoughts, free will and creation the birth. For in the beginning was there dark or was there light?
These and like questions are pondered from theologians and scientists. My intent is to tell you the answers are right.
For if you believe have faith and are kind, heaven on earth and above you will find. In each moment you will see great beauty and want to share the feeling of ….

Subject: That Einstein Moment
When Einstein kissed me
It all became clear
Enumeration of the cosmos
Creation of Pi
The check marks were ticked off
and I knew the reason why
The systemic alignment of the planets
An accounting of the stars
Animalistic instinct
Initiation of life and the Red planet Mars
Andromeda, Cassiopeia and distant Galaxies
and I knew exactly what
The Big Bang Theoretic
Expansion, Implosion and the reality of Dark Matter
Exponentially conducive to the Age of Aquarius
As the friction of the Retrograde grew to be
In the Northern most position of Summer Solstice sunrises
and I knew logistically where
Yes Einstein kissed me on my lips
He held my face between his hands
Face to face eye to eye
Declaring I was special (sigh)
And then I was no longer blue
and I intimately knew who
Created for a higher purpose
Enlightened enough to hear Solomon’s Song
To LOVE and BE and never ever be wrong a
Proclamation of my mistakes and how to learn from them
Understanding the metamorphoses and Nature
and I knew the reason why
The Emerald Tablet, the Testaments, Quran and Codices
Connecting dots and counting sheep
I dream a dream within a dream inside reality
And pondered all the Gods and Goddesses
A Credo we are bound to cleave
and I knew precisely how
With every rise of the sun and the setting of the moon
And the seasons here on Earth
Summation of an enigmatic smile
For the wondrous realization that she’d pondered for a while
In the moment of contact of the pressing of the lips came Crystallization of purpose
Yes I knew absolutely how

California Dreaming
Another trip home to NorCal. Its been a little over a year 14 months give or take.
I had truly missed the golden hills and poppies. The roads that have hills and curves keep you on your toes when driving.
The Pacific Ocean is still cold and I remembered, almost too late, to never turn my back to it, for fear of a rogue wave. The beautiful blue hue of the Pacific, is different than anywhere else.
The Ocean breeze and hills that meet the water still mesmerizes me.
My baby created the wonderful feast inside our Bento Box lunch. The perfect lunch for consuming by the ocean. Rice balls, octopus hot dogs, crab sandwich sushi, apple rabbits, cucumbers, peppers, and Mochi she is so creative. 👏
Thursdays, GNO, Tea time and Fun with my Peeps..
We love to get together and hash out new ideas and swap stories. We get so excited most times we are all trying to talk at once and then we all laugh. So I found this contest from Vogue to take pictures and post “selfies” of your idea of a “Rocking Outfit” on Instagram. The prize a $2,500 Gift Card for Neiman Marcus or some fancy store. And of course I said “why not?!” I told my girls and this is what we put together. And of course on Thursday’s we usually get together anyways so…
We would slotted to go out to tea at Bamboozle. A tea lounge (cause we love tea time) http://bamboozletealounge.com/
WE had a great time our second time here. I think we found a new favorite place. The baby pho boats and rolls are so yummy and at a reasonable price.
Bamboozle Rolls
Wrapped in translucent rice paper with vermicelli rice noodles, fresh vegetables and your choice of Prawns, Grilled Pork, 5 spice BBQ Pork, Grilled Beef, Grilled Chicken or Tofu.
Excellent service and “heavenly tea” was consumed (Almond Oolong). Check out Mari’s video on Instagram. http://instagram.com/p/eLtbODJwDq/
And you can follow us there or on Facebook ……you know the drill.
We were leaving and Dre came by so we had to take more pics. The software “Split Pic” and the timer was set….and after that….away we go in the pouring rain.

Kitchen Rituals-WE EAT – ITS All GOOD
I am still not eating beef, chicken or pork. Lots of fish, seafood, veggies and fruit. IIt’s been almost 2 months I guess and I feel much better (if that is possible) and the energy level is even higher. It may be a problem…I just cannot slow down physically until I sit still or relax in the evenings to early morning .
For me its an adventure in the kitchen. I enjoy cooking and creating savory, sweet and always sumptuous meals or snacks. It depends on my mood and I never cook the same thing…the same way…twice. Recipes are guidelines. I make it my own. I woke up with the intentions of making cookies. The two cubes of butter were softened. (I still eat butter and cheese, no milk just soy). Also the recipe requires two eggs and I swear I can taste them. A small sacrifice to pay for sweets. I made white chocolate, pecan and (dried) cherries cookies. I also added some Heath Toffee bits and some milk chocolate chips as well. UM HUMMMM ….SO GOOD ! I take them out a bit early so that they will be soft. Now first thing in the morning, the entire house smells like cookies.
I love that smell..it makes me
happy.
There is food in the house and mouths to feed.

The prior batch was Oatmeal with Golden Raisins and Cherries. And the batch before that was White and Milk Chocolate Chips, Pecans, Cashews and Heath Bar Toffee bits…PERFECXXXTION (not a typo, describes the flavors).
For my Break Fast I had Cantaloupe and Mandarins oranges (chilled from a can). Feeling sunshiny orange today. Lunch was the remaining piece of Bourbon Salmon on a Kai
We scored some Dungeness
Crab claws…I do not like the taste of the blue crab so often found in the South and was pleased with the price as well. The butcher had lobster claws and told me to come back and he would have Alaskan King Crab Claws for sale the next day. I gotta get my protein somehow yes?
We had smashed avocado with pico de gallo and fresh squeezed lemon..with Tostitos scoops..it’s an fresh explosion of flavor that fills you up..good.
What did I cook for the 4th (my brother asks
me)? Oh not much just a lil bit…steak, hamburger, mac n cheese, beans, cole slaw…thats all…
Me: Magnifique nes ce pas?
Vintage Requiem
My favorite piece? Let me state for the record, that seriously there isn’t just one. For the purposes of this article I must say these are currently my two favorite pieces. They are both vintage (purses or) pocket books. A rectangular shaped (with a slight flare at the end and a flat bottom) black ostrich skin snap closure pocketbook with the label of the esteemed house of IMagnin, and a white ostrich skinned flip top double strapped pocket book purse. Both acquired second- hand, thrift or consignment shops. The black one in Walnut Creek, CA (because it was a classic piece) and the white one was bought at a store in Berkeley, CA (A lucky find for my Wedding Trousseau).
I should have started off by saying “Thank you Mom.” Isn’t it sad that we sometimes learn lessons the hard way? However, the most important thing is that we do “learn”. Long before the “consignment stores” and the “up-styled trend”, my Mom would constantly drag us with her to go “thrift store shopping”.
“Searching for and finding that coveted unique piece has a lucid ulterior motivation and never fails to satisfy me with a decidedly lenitive effect.” |
We loathed going into those stores and we hoped and prayed none of our friends saw us entering such a place. I could not wrap my head around the fact that this woman would shout at me “do you really want people to think we are poor! Why do you wear those jeans with the holes in them?!” Yet and still wasn’t she the one who would always offer or drag us to go thrift store shopping with her.? Aren’t those old clothes? We used to call them “dead peoples clothes” not knowing that they weren’t just donated from people who didn’t want the reminders of family members who had passed on. Or in fact that people just “gave things away” they no longer had a use or desire for. We kept everything in our basement in barrels, just in case we wanted them back later. Or someday we would “send them to the Philippines for family or other people in need”. My Mom was a stunning beauty. She had that Island girl innocence mixed with an acute confidence of self that made her irresistible to most everyone. She was also very smart in that she had come to the U.S. as a child bride. She was divorced with 4 children by the time she was 19. She learned how to maneuver and in needing to provide for her family, she ransacked her brain and picked out ideas and refined them with an entrepreneurial spirit and business savvy that was unstoppable.
I learned from her. What she liked vs. what she loved. Needs vs. Wants. She, as well as I, loved classic, tailored or eclectic pieces. Things that endured the test of time. Things that spoke to me and said, “I am yours”. “You must have me”. “You look like me”.
I grew up in Northern California with a definitive Cali Swag base, a dash of New York boldness and confidence. As a child, our excursions to San Francisco were always special. It didn’t matter if it was Play Land
Fisherman’s Wharf, Union Square or just getting lost. But that was where I, as a child, first saw the I.Magnin storefront. The impact was profound.
I also love things that lean toward the romantic. In time
, my love for acquiring things: homes filled with different eras of furniture, classic cars, jewelry, clothes and accessories dominated my underlying reasons for being.
I moved around a lot, not really wanting to be tied down and opening my horizons by seeing some of the world. I moved to Colorado at 19. I lived in New York and Florida. I was proposed to in Paris on the River Seine. And yes I searched for love, however, searching for and finding that coveted unique piece has a lucid ulterior motivation and never fails to satisfy me with a decidedly lenitive effect.
I often feel a certain risorgimento in choosing an outfit and dressing is invigorating. Simple pleasures in daily rituals are a lifestyle choice for me. I love to savor and enjoy everything and with gratitude and great care, For life can be short, live and be blessed.
These items didn’t disappoint nor ever failed to give me that surge of pleasure again and again.

As a young adult in my early twenties, I shopped at Capwell’s (that sold the I. Magnin brand) which intersected with Telegraph, Twentieth and Broadway Avenues in Oakland, CA. I was fresh out of Cosmetology school and working at a salon on Broadway.
